Cleveland Water Pollution Control has an apprenticeship program for Cleveland high school graduates who want to pursue a sewer maintenance career with the City of Cleveland.

The Construction Craft Laborer Apprenticeship Program uses classroom study and on-the-job training that allows Cleveland Metropolitan School District graduates to earn an income while starting a career in the wastewater industry.

prerequisites

 

Must be 18 years of age by the application year enrollment deadline.

 

Must be a high school graduate of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District or have a General Education Development (GED) certificate.

 

Must have had at least a 2.0 GPA during all four years of high school and have a 90% attendance rate during that time. You also must provide proof of both.

 

Must submit a letter of recommendation from either an instructor or Guidance Counselor.

Getting Started

Anyone interested in the Construction Craft Laborer Apprenticeship Program, must also complete and submit an application for Pre-Apprenticeship Admission, and supply proof of parent or guardian approval.

Upon Successful completion of the Pre-Apprenticeship program, a candidate may be hired into the Apprenticeship Program as a full-time employee.  Successful applicants will be selected based on their ability to learn and work in the apprentice occupation as determined by a review and assessment by Water Pollution Control officials.
